a little about me

Hi, I’m Kate.

I often say I’ve lived many lives and worn many hats, but nothing has shaped my heart more than becoming a mother to my son.

Long before I ever became a mom, I felt drawn to pregnancy and birth. As a little girl, I watched A Baby Story on TLC almost every day, completely captivated by birth. I remember asking my own mom to tell me my birth story over and over again, never getting tired of hearing it.

When I moved from the Midwest to Los Angeles in 2017, I followed that curiosity and sought mentorship from a local doula. I fell in love with birth stories and with the incredible privilege of witnessing women step into motherhood. Even then, I knew that one day I wanted to support women through one of the most important days of their lives.

Life had other plans for a while. In my early twenties, I worked full-time as a model and actor. Later, after sharing my own recovery journey online, I became a Certified Eating Disorder Recovery Coach, supporting hundreds of women around the world as they found healing and learned to trust themselves again. Although that work looked very different, at its heart it was still about walking alongside women through seasons of transformation. Somewhere in the background, my dream of becoming a doula quietly stayed with me.

In 2025, I finally lived my own birth story when I gave birth to my son.

It wasn’t the birth I had imagined. It was beautiful, but it was also challenging, unexpected, and at times, confusing. Looking back, I realize how much those experiences shaped me—not only as a mother, but as the kind of doula I want to be.

They reminded me that birth doesn’t have to go according to plan to be deeply meaningful. They also reminded me how important it is to feel supported, informed, respected, and never alone.

I believe every woman deserves that, no matter what her birth looks like.

Whether you’re planning an unmedicated birth, an epidural, an induction, or a cesarean, my role isn’t to fit you into one version of birth. It’s to support your birth, your decisions, and your family with compassion, evidence-based information, and supportive presence.

Hospital birth meditation

Here I am, meditating, as my emergency induction medication began taking effect. Feeling overwhelmed, excited, anxious, all the feelings that I would be meeting my baby in a time and way I didn’t expect.
